Shaykh Anas al-Hibri, Shaykh Samir's student, reciting the entire 30th juz on video Shaykh Anas Al-Hibri Shaykh Anas Al-Hibri was born in Damascus, Syria. He began the memorization of the Sacred Qur'an in his mid-twenties and successfully completed it in three months. He then went on to complete the recitation of the ten readings of the Holy Qur;an, all of which have been transmitted to us through a Mutawatir (Mass-Transmission) chain of transmission going all the way back to the Messenger of Allah; Sayyidina Muhammad (peace and blessings of God be upon him). Shaykh Anas has recited the Sacred Quraan to the foremost Quranic Scholars in the World today. He began by reciting the Sacred Qur'an by memory to al-Shaykh Mahmud Jum'ua 'Abeed al-Dimishqi; one of the students of the great recitor and master of the Holy Qur'an from the city of Homs, Syria; the Muqr'i al-Shaykh 'abdul-'aziz 'Ayn al-Sud al-Homsi. He then continued his study and went on to complete the recitation of the ten Qir'aats from the chain of Shatibiyya to al-Shaykh 'Umar Rayhaan al-Dimashqi. The very same recital was then repeated to the Great living master of the Qur'an; the honourable al-Shaykh Muhammad Sukar al-Rifa'i, who is the teacher of Shaykh Samir al-Nass and many other teachers of the Qur'an. Finally Shaykh Anas went on to recite the Ten connotations of the Qur'an on the authority of Tayba upon al-Shaykh Samir al-Nass al-Dimishqi. On the completion of these recitals Shaykh Anas began serving the students of Quraan with daily classes open to all. His fluency in the English Language has allowed him to be of great benefit to the Western students of sacred knowledge residing in Damascus. Shaykh Anas has also been honoured with the opportunity to study some of the core islamic subjects; such as 'Aqida, Fiqh and Tafsir with the prominent Mufti of Syria, Shaykh Adeeb Kallas (May Allah Alimighty preserve and bless his life). The Shaykh resides in Damascus with his wife three children and continues teaching the Quranic Sciences.
